Flames give up on hotel protest
The Flames yesterday gave up on their protest against sub-standard accommodation in Mali and switched focus to tonight’s 2015 Africa Cup Nations Group B opening qualifier against the Eagles.
The Flames, through leader of delegation and FAM executive member David Dube protested against the standards of Olympe Hotel in Bamako which they described as filthy
Dube yesterday said as at now what is important to focus on the game other than waste time on an issue that might take time to be attended to.
“We would rather wait for the match commissioner who we have gathered will arrive today (Friday) and notThursday as it was earlier indicated. Afterall, we lodged a formal complaint to CAF through FAM.
“Besides, wer have also confirmed that most of the quality hotels are fully booked by United Nations peace-keeping officials,” he said.
Three years ago, the Flames also protested accommodation in Chad and CAF ordered refund of the money they paid for another hotel they moved to.
