“Everything is now in order. All the games are set to be played this Saturday,” Munthali said.

Regional finals for North will be held in Mzuzu at Mzuzu Stadium.

Southern Region finals will be held in Mangochi at St Augustine while regional finals for the Central Region will be held at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe.

Three teams will be competing for honours at each region. For the North, market based football stars, Fish Eagles, who retained this year’s Mzuzu City FMB Under-20 League, will compete with North districts champions, Ada Mana FC from Nkhata Bay and Malemia FC from Karonga.

In the South, Mangochi Youth Academy will face Blantyre City champions, Maggie Chombo Academy and Disciples FC from Zomba.

In Central Region; Lilongwe City champions, Villa FC will face district champions, Dedza Police and Young Dynamos from Mchinji.

The three regional champions will qualify for national finals where they will battle it out for the top prize.

“We are expecting tough competition this year with the many teams participating in the league. We are just urging football lovers to go in their large number to watch such games,” Munthali said.

FMB is sponsoring this year’s competition to the tune of K20 million ($34,799.7).

This year national champions will receive K750 000 ($1,304.99). Fish Eagles are defending champions.

The national finals will take place in Zomba from November 2O-22 at Zomba Community ground.
