Fredokiss champions volunteerism in free show
Rapper Fredokiss has underscored the power of voluntary work as key to uplifting people’s lives and society as a whole.
Fredokiss said this ahead of his free show scheduled for Sunday at Ndirande Community open ground interact with his fans.
“At times, Malawians should learn to sacrifice their time and resources for free to reach out to those who can hardly afford paying for some services. It is the spirit of volunteerism that can make this world a better place,” said Fredokiss.
He said all is set for his free show, which has been organised under his Ghetto Gutter Entertainment.
“Basically, the free show in Ndirande is a token of appreciation for the support that ghetto youths render to me,” said Fredokiss, who is also popularly known as Ghetto King Kong in showbiz circles.
His initiative has received positive response from partners with online music store www.malawi-music.com joining the initiative as an official partner. Other artists such as Hyphen (formerly known as Young K), Daredevils and Blak Jak will spice up the event.
Fredokiss said that there is also a list of up-and-coming artists who will perform with him during the show.
Dingaani Whayo of Malawi-music.com says he supports the initiative saying it is important for artists to give back to society.
Meanwhile, the rapper donated assorted items to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital’s (QECH) children’s Burns and Intensive Care units on Wednesday.
Speaking during the donation, David Milambe, who is the deputy speaker of the Youth Parliament and lead the delegation, hailed the rapper for leading the exercise, which benefited about 30 patients.
He said youth parliamentarians in the country have embarked on resource mobilization campaign to support their charity work. n
