Kaima, a third-year student, said she wanted to show that modelling is not just for slim people.

“I feel happy and fulfilled because I was contesting to win and not just to contest. The competition was tight, but I had confidence and was focused throughout so I was positive the entire time,” said Kaima.

On his part, Khao said he was glad to be crowned Mr ABC and stressed that he was grateful because it was not an easy competition.

“I felt the tough competition. It was not easy, the other contestants had a lot of support, but I’m glad to say I’m the new Mr ABC. It means a lot and I cherish the support from friends and family during the entire journey,” he said.

The two further encouraged fellow students to be confident and go for the things they want, bearing in mind that they can achieve whatever they want to as long as they are willing to work.

One of the judges, Pascal Kamanga of Kwacha Creations applauded the contestants, saying they brought the best in the competition by showcasing different fashion trends which made their task difficult.

“It was not easy to decide who the winner should be because everyone gave it their best, but still we are glad we made the decision and have new crown bearers,” he said.
