ICTAM explains Dossi disqualification

The ICT Association of Malawi (ICTAM) says it disqualified presidential aspirant Moses Dossi for failing to meet membership requirements and being deemed a politically exposed person (PEP).

This follows media reports that the High Court granted Dossi an injunction restraining ICTAM from holding its November 4 2026 presidential election.

ICTAM general manager Andrew Kamwendo said the association had not yet been formally served with the court order.

“Dossi was disqualified on two grounds. The first was that the Electoral Committee determined that he was a politically exposed person, a status that disqualifies a candidate under Article 3.2.1.7 of the Electoral Code. The second ground was that Dossi had not paid his ICTAM membership fees for 2025 by the time he submitted his nomination and was therefore not considered a member in good standing,” he said.

Kamwendo said the decision also drew on relevant provisions of the ICTAM Electoral Code and Constitution.
