After holding the country’s first-ever food carnival, Ovation Fusion Festival has been invited to attend South Africa’s food and music extravaganza.

Ovation Advertising Agency’s Chimwemwe Matonga said in an interview the event, DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival presented by Nedbank, takes place in October in Johannesburg with a number of firms expected to participate.

“It is South Africa’s biggest food and music extravaganza and it promises to be the not-to-be-missed event on the 2016 events calendar.

“The music festival for music lovers and the food festival for food lovers returns to Johannesburg from October 8 to 9. Festival organisers are promising patrons mouth-watering finds in food, street-chefs and delectable trends as well as a music line-up of world-class entertainment and local acts,” he said.

Matonga said participating at the festival presents them an opportunity to discover more and apply best practices in the country.

He added: “We want to learn from our colleagues who have been in the game for a long time. Delicious Festival is now in its fourth year, so there is a lot to learn from them. We are going to draw lessons for Malawi’s Food and Music Festival.

“We will attend both days and then we have a number of meetings with various players there and see how we can rope them in for our Ovation Fusion Festival next year.”

Apart from kid zones and restaurants, with celebrity chefs such as Siba and Johnny Morris, there will also be music performances by Hugh Masekela, The Jacksons, Macy Gray, Judith Sephuma, Mi Casa, Elements of Life, Arrested Development and Lira, among others.
