Silver Strikers have announced that midfielder Green Harawa has turned down offers from Mauritius clubs and will stay put with the bankers.

In an interview on Sunday, Silver chairperson MacDonald Mafuta-Mwale said Harawa is not happy with the conditions offered by the Mauritius clubs.

“We had outright offers from two clubs, but Harawa turned them down, saying he will not be comfortable there. There is nothing we can do about it,” said Mafuta-Mwale, who could, however, not disclose what the club could have benefited had a deal materialised.

The Silver chairperson claimed that they have rejected another offer from Be Forward Mighty Wanderers who were seeking Harawa’s services.

“We cannot sell him to competition. The player himself is also not willing,” he said.

Wanderers general secretary Mike Butao refused to comment on Silver’s claims.

Last year, Harawa went to Botswana where he clinched a deal but returned home after a month and found the offers from Mauritius clubs waiting.
