Flames star forward Frank ‘Gabadinho’ Mhango has come out of his shell to react against the booing that he endured during Wednesday’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia’s Walya Antelopes.

Gabadinho, who was again off-form, was booed by some fans when he was being taken off stage for Frank Banda.

Speaking in a telephone interview from Bloemfontein yesterday morning, Gabadinho sounding ice-cool, said he was not bothered with the booing.

“I wasn’t bothered and I didn’t care about it. The booing did not affect me in anyway because in a game of football, you cannot be on top of your game all the time.

“Even big-star players such as [Cristiano] Ronaldo, [Lionel] Messi, [Mario] Balotelli and Suarez also slump in form sometimes and similarly, it was just a bad day for me,” said the 22-year-old.

He also hinted that perhaps those that booed him had lots of expectations from him.

Soon after the match, which the Flames won 3-2, fellow striker Atusaye Nyondo who scored two goals, also condemned his strike partner’s booing.
