Mr. Malawi runner-up Yasin ‘Ichocho’ Suwedi has been blessed with a baby boy child and has planned to nurture the child into a national bodybuilding champion at the age of 10 and a national icon at 25.
Ichocho said yesterday that just like the undefeated American boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Junior, who was taught boxing skills at a tender age and is still managed by his father, his son Hamza will be given all the necessary support from age 10.

“I thank God for giving me a son, who has become my third child. I have been expecting a son to take over from me and do greater things in my favourite sport. I will start getting him to a gym once he reaches the age of 10,” Ichocho said about his baby boy born on September 7.
“I emerged as Mr. Malawi runner-up after four years of training, but I want my boy to become a national champion after five years of training. I will sacrifice everything just to make him well educated and well trained because I want him to do greater things I have never and will not do in my life.”

He said that even the name Hamza tells a story about the kind of man he would like to see his son to become.
“Hamza is the name of a strong and brave man who fought against the enemies of Islam and preached about the religion. My son will not only be a great athlete, but a great statesman as well. I am laying a foundation stone for his success,” said the 27-year-old Ndirande Township-based bodybuilder.
Suwedi challenged that he will win the Mr Malawi Bodybuilding Championships slated for next month in Blantyre as a tribute to his beloved son. n
