Jetu, Zeze set Melusi Park ablaze

Amapiano sensation Jetu and Zeze Kingstone on Saturday thrilled patrons at Melusi Park, located in the outskirts of capital city Lilongwe. 

During the show, dubbed Zeze versus Jetu, the Amapiano stars attracted hundreds of their fans that came from different locations around the city to witness the performances. 

Backed by Zembani and Six Solid bands, the concert started at 8.15pm with fans filling the venue’s vacant seats.

After Six Solid Band performed five songs, Kanthu Kalinda, also known as Kaka, wowed fans with his hit single Kutola samatola mwini wake ali pompo.

It was a chilly evening as fans donned heavy woollen jackets, tops and Armageddon boots, among others.

Sam Smacks of Zembani Band did not disappoint fans as he appeared on stage to dish out some of Soldier Lucius Banda’s old tracks  like Ndiwe m’bale wanga, Esther,  Njoka mu udzu and Amadikira.  

Zembani  Band  kept the venue hot as Nepman jumped on stage after Sam Smacks for an impressive performance of some of his popular songs.

At exactly 12 midnight, Jetu went on stage surrounded by heavy security detail.

It was her first performance since her tour of South Africa.

She started by offering an apology for her delay which she said was due to some logistical issues.

 This electrified  her fans as they danced and sing along to her songs such as Chakwaza, Mnyumbamo, Wakalamba Wafuna.

But it was Chakwaza that earned her the biggest reaction from the audience, with patrons sanging along on top of their voices. 

Zeze Kingstone kept the tempo up after jumping on stage after Jetu and performed until 2:30am.

He was joined on stage by his wife, socialite Dorothy Kingstone who hyped the fans for a short while.

 In a post-event interview one of the organisers Thomson Madulira thanked all artists and praised fans for the wonderful turn up.

“We don’t disappoint fans and our contracts with artists are so decent, logical and professional,” he said.
