In an interview, CRVL publicity secretary Emmanuel Chipungu said they have lined up tight fixtures this weekend to start the season on high.
“It is now official that the league is starting this season. We want a competitive season. All teams in the league are eager to win the trophy; so we are expecting tight competition,†said Chipungu.
He said the league has also come up with new strategies to be announced later, to fight indiscipline in the league.
Meanwhile, CRVL has announced that this year it will have a complete season for the ladies league. According to Chipungu, six teams have registered with the league this season and the ladies league will run alongside the other leagues.
In a related development, the league has promoted Lilongwe Spikers, Don Bosco and Calvary Family Church (CFC) Snipers to the men’s league.
According to Chipungu, the season will run from this weekend to the last day of April next year.
