Teethsavers is a Christian humanitarian organisation dedicated to impacting the world with the love of Jesus Christ by ministering to the world’s most impoverished children in Africa and South America.

Their primary purpose is to teach children and educators simple, inexpensive dental techniques in order to prevent future infections of their bodies.

“The award winning US mixed ensemble is passionate about spreading the gospel of Jesus through their unique blend of rich acappella tradition with the influence of contemporary styles. The concert will be held on Sunday August 17 at the BICC Umodzi Park from 8pm,” said Q Malewezi of Qoncept Creative.

Some of the common oral problems which will be addressed from the show’s proceeds, which is targeting about K2.5 million, are bleeding gums, caries/cavities and any other oral anomalies such as cleft lip and palate as well as teeth discolouring medically known as Fluorosis.

“Demand for our services is growing day by day. Some referral centres are unable to provide the necessary treatment due to lack of functional equipment at the referral centres. Thus, we would like to help equip some of these referral centres such as Dowa and Salima district hospitals,” says Teethsavers International Malawi director Fredson Sambani.

He said the oral health situation in Malawi is pathetic hence the need for specific resources for the course.

Joyful Souls on its part says it is ready for the show.

“With such a spiritual concert, we want to win people and show them who God is. We have been ready ever since we got the message that we should partake in this noble course.

“We have been holding free concerts in colleges and we will be at the Polytechnic this Sunday. This has been preparing us for such shows,” noted the group’s communication director Chilinga Tembo.

Other members of Joyful Souls are Rodgers Mpinganjira, Jacob Kamanga, Bram Fudzulani, Arthur Chidothe, Mervin Ching’amba, Mac Zakulanda, James Chilombo and Lloyd Kaisi Phiri.
