Mighty Wanderers and Flames midfielder Joseph ‘Shakira’ Kamwendo is confident of returning to South Africa next month following his impressive showing against Bafana Bafana in last Saturday’s international friendly match.

The Flames lost 3-1 and Kamwendo scored lone goal from a penalty.

“I do not want to say much, but there are some openings. I am expecting good things to come up next month. I am just crossing my fingers.

“But I would rather not talk much about it now. My focus is to help my club Mighty Wanderers in the remaining Super League games,” said Kamwendo who referred Nation Online to his Johannesburg-based manager Charles Martin for details.

Martin confirmed that there were a few teams that were swayed by Kamwendo’s performance after watching him against Bafana.

“There are indeed a few teams that have shown interest, but I would rather not talk anything until a concrete offer comes up. However, as of now things look promising,” said Martin.

Kamwendo agreed to a mutual termination of his contract with South African outfit Orlando Pirates last season.
