FCB Nyasa Big Bullets on Thursday unveiled a new board of directors which is a blend of  old and new faces.

Konrad Buckle has been retained as president with Escort Chinula as vice-president.

In an interview, the club’s chief executive officer Suzgo Nyirenda said the appointment of the new board signifies the club’s adherence to good governance.

He said: “As a club, we adhere to good governance. That is why we called people to express interest to fill board positions after the expiration of the previous board last year. We are happy that we have the new board. Congratulations to those that have made it into the new board and we look forward to working with them in fulfilling the club’s strategic goals.”

The new board has also incorporated two women, namely Institute of Marketing in Malawi president Isabel Masi Kachinjika as marketing and commercialisation director and former Netball Association of Malawi president Khungekile Madise as director of women’s football.

Others in the board are Yasin Domas as legal affairs director, Harold Mwayang’ana as finance and administration director, Demo Kalaitzis as sports health as well as education director and Everson Mchacha is partnerships director.

Those who were in the previous board but not included in the new team include Chifundo Makande, Sadik Malinga, the Reverend Moyenda Kanjerwa, Stone Mwamadi, Blantyre City South legislator Noel Lipipa and Football Association of Malawi (FAM) president Fleetwood Haiya.

However, Haiya resigned from the board last year where he served as vice-presidentto pave the way for his candidancy for FAM presidency.

Soccer analyst Julius Mithi said the club operates without a stadium and it is everyone’s expectation that the new board will mobilise resources for the project.

“It is the expectation of every Malawian to see Bullets have its own stadium,” he said.
