Madalitso Kalikokha, known in the music circles by the first two syllables of his name—Mada has released an album titled Kufuna Kokha, a 15-track album which was produced in Lilongwe by Ernest Ikwanga and Lulu.

Mada concentrates on R’n’B, mostly targeting youths, which is the reason he plays music that does not sound like conventional gospel songs.

He says he does not remember anytime music was not part of his life and recalls growing up in a family which loved music.

“Music has always been part of me and I feel it is time I showed the world what I am made of,” he said.

Songs such as Ndi One and Madzi Amoyo are already enjoying airplay in some radio stations.

The youthful artist told Chill that he is planning to launch his album early next year.

Mada pleads with established gospel artists to welcome him in the fold as he is set to make a difference.

Ndi One

is a song which talks about how great Jesus is.

His smooth voice blends well with the instruments and harmonised by the backing vocals.

The R’n’B song removes the monotonous touch of gospel music to achieve a whole new audience—or in his case save new lives.

Most Sena tracks are associated with mbira music, but Mada takes a new dimension in Anyakubara as he plays a slow track.

Though the message in the song is powerful already, Mada stays true to the Sena heritage as the malimba is prominent throughout the song.

The album does not only portray his Christian beliefs but also reflects Mada’s personality as an individual.

One can notice how he breaks away from the conventional gospel beat, talks about other subjects like respect for mothers which is hardly highlighted in gospel music and his sincerity which he portrays in his music, for instance in Anyakubara.
