Jackson Kanchiputu became the first Malawian Big Brother The Chase viewer to win a sophisticated ICT device, an Uhuru Tablet.

During the fourth eviction show held on Sunday that saw Ethiopia’s Betty and Motamma from Botswana parting ways with the $300 000 prize money, Kanchiputu was announced as winner of the Uhuru Tablet alongside Evidence Maengamhuu from Zimbabwe who won an HD PVR Decoder with South Africa’s Moipone Magwedi walking away with a DStv Walka.

The three alongside all other winners through the continental series will get their prizes after the show in August.

The Uhuru Tablet was launched earlier this year by Africa’s ICT device assembling giant, RLG Communications Limited which industry experts consider the top notch in innovation excellence on the devices marketed today, as the long awaited laptop can also be detached to be used as a tablet.

RLG Communications Limited and their partners, including Microsoft Corporation, have been working on Uhuru since last year when an agreement was sealed between the two companies, to launch the device, the first of its kind on the ICT market.

“Uhuru is 3G enabled and runs on Windows 8 operating system, powered by a core i5 processor. Uhuru has an Ivy Bridge I5 CPU, 11.6” touch screen, a 10 point capacitive touch panel, 4GB RAM, 64GB hard drive, with a front and back Camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, USB and HDMI Ports and micro SD card reader,” according to information on the internet.

Additionally, Uhuru has a detachable dock with a second battery, microphone, headphone and DC jack.
