NBS Bank dates SMEs

NBS Bank plc on Friday said it is committed to fostering partnerships with small and medium enterprise (SMEs) and facilitate their growth.

Speaking in Blantyre during a SME clinic, the bank’s deputy chief executive officer Temwani Simwaka said SMEs are a backbone of the economy; hence, the need to actively involve and support them.

She said: “Collaborating with SMEs not only contributes to the country’s self-sufficiency by producing goods locally but also plays a crucial role in reducing foreign exchange expenditure.

“Simultaneously, this partnership fosters job creation, addressing the pressing need for employment opportunities in the country.

On his part, a participant Honest Chirwa said the engagement with other SMEs has given him insights into various business operations and strategies, fostering a collaborative environment for knowledge exchange.
