Innocent Dzimbiri scored the lone goal with a stylish finish from a Felix Kamwendo’s free kick in the 10th minute.

The goal sent the victory-starved Nomads faithful into frenzy.

Relief was the prevalent emotion in the blue side of town and their chairperson George Chamangwana could not hide his excitement.

“At least some pressure off, now we have to fight and settle the deficit in our next game and start afresh,” said Chamangwana.

At Kamuzu Stadium, Azam Tigers came from behind to thump Epac 4-1. The Kau Kau Boys now have six points from two games on second position.

Rodrick Douglas put Epac in the lead before Tigers came out of their shell to score four goals through Bright Munthali (2), Isaac Kaliati and Clement Ng’ombe.

Blue Eagles also have six points, having beaten Civo United 2-1. Micium Mhone and John Banda were on target for the cops while Jabulani Linje scored for Civo.

Red Lions beat fellow soldiers Kamuzu Barracks 2-0 and the hero of the afternoon was Kumbukani Mwambene who scored both goals.

It was a miserable outing for KB, who lost 1-0 to Big Bullets on Saturday.

Moyale were also 2-0 winners over newcomers Airborne Rangers. Gastin Simkonda and Lloyd Njaliwa were on target for Kaning’ina soldiers.
