A team comprising Nyakhoko Nsona, Jones Katangwe and Lucy Ganiza survived a tie with runner-up and third-placed outfits to win the FMB Christmas Mix Golf Tournament at Blantyre Sports Club (BSC) on Sunday.

The top three teams came out of the greens with 47 stable-ford points each, but the Ganiza-captained side through to throne after counting out the two contenders.

The runner-up team had Harry Mukaka, William Mabulekesi and F. Kharodia while the third-placed team was composed of Chris Kapanga, Rafik Maru and Teri Amaro.

“It was a tight battle but our better handicaps have come to our rescue. We are quite relieved that the crown has come our way,” said Ganiza.

At least 16 teams contested in the tournament which was a gift to FMB’s current and potential customers, according to the bank’s marketing manager Widdey Nsona.

“This was a way of giving back to our dear customers who have been loyal to the bank throughout the year,” he said.
