“I will be making all kinds of music to accommodate different masses,” said the musician.

Onesimus said his move to change management does not change the relationship that he has with his spiritual leader Prophet Shepherd Bushiri.

“I also remain a member of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) the Jesus Nation,” he added.

The musician said he appreciates the role that Major One Records has played in his career adding that it is his prayer that the record label continues to support more artists.

In reaction, the spokesperson for Prophet Bushiri, Ephraim Nyondo said they support Onesimus in his move as it demonstrates his spirit to go further and conquer.

“The resolute to grow is what Major 1 Records instils in all artists that it nurtures under its management. We believe Onesimus will go far and wide,” he said.

Nyondo confirmed that Onesimus remains a member of the Jesus Nation ECG church.

He disclosed that currently, Major 1 Records has 47 artists under its management drawn from different countries.

“All these are members of the Jesus Nation ECG Church. However, the record label supports several artists who are not members of the church,” said Nyondo, who said artists who want to be under the label must make applications to the label’s music director.

Onesimus first made his name in the mid-2000s as a secular musician. He rebranded to Onesimus upon joining the Jesus Nation ECG church under Prophet Shepherd Bushiri.

Some of his hit songs are Ndere, Solomon, Mr Nobody and Panadol.
