Fan-goers to Ozone Refreshment Centre in Malawi’s commercial city, Blantyre, should brace themselves for more lively and entertaining moments this summer. More musical performances have already been booked.

Notable shows begin this Friday with B Squared launching his album titled Ukhala Bwanji Mwamuna. Supporting artists will include DJ Twinkle, DJ Mine James, Daredevils and Foxxy.

Owner of the place, Francis Khunga, said in an interview that the drinking joint could not host shows and performances because of poor patronage during the winter season.

He said Lucius Banda and Zembani Band will perform at the place on September 2 2012, alongside Joseph Nkasa and Lulu.

“It’s hard for people to come for shows when it is cold. Ozone experiences low turnout between June and July; hence, the idea not to host shows. Now that the winter is almost over, people should get ready for big events,” said Khunga.

He said more artists are booking space at the centre. “On September 7 2012, The Black Missionaries crew will perform at the place. We are prepared for such shows,” said Khunga.

Khunga said talks are underway to bring in more international artists. “We are discussing with Wendy Harawa to bring in artists from Zambia,” said Khunga.
