Kamuzu Barracks (KB) caretaker coach Billy Phambala says he has already plotted Civo United’s downfall when the two teams clash in the Presidential Cup fixture at Civo Stadium today.

“I have all the players with me and we have no injuries. We have been working hard in training and we are in shape to face Civo. I have no doubt that we will carry the day,” said Phambala, who is sitting in for Kenwood Nkhoma.

The statistics in the 2012-13 TNM Super League season put the two teams at par. They drew 3-3 in the first round and 2-2 in the second round.

Civo coach Thom Mkolongo is equally upbeat about carrying the day although he will miss three key players.

Emmanuel Zoya is serving a red card while Maxwell Mwanyongo and Gasha Phidzi are nursing injuries.

“Definitely, it is a big game. We would have loved to have these players in the squad, but we will do with the players we have. We have a big squad and there still remains a lot of options. It is a must for the fans that we win against KB and we will,” said Mkolongo.

In a telephone interview from Salima, Nkhoma said he is optimistic that Phambala will do the job against Civo.

“He (Phambala) is a capable fellow, having worked with Cobbe Barracks over the years. I am sure that he will take KB to the next phase of the competition. Even in the league, I am sure he will get us points,” said Nkhoma.
