University of Pretoria (Tuks) captain Tebogo Monyai has praised the goalscoring form of Malawian international striker Atusaye Nyondo who is on loan at South Africa Absa Premiership side from SuperSport United.

“We only started gaining momentum half-way through the first-round and our performance at home has improved compared to last season. We now need to work on our away record. Geoffrey Massa and Atusaye Nyondo have brought some change in the scoring department as they have scored in almost every match we played at home,” Monyai is quoted on the club’s website www.amatuks.co.za.

Monyai said this when looking forward to the remainder of the 16-member league whose leaders are Kaizer Chiefs on 30 points from 14 games.

“We have not scored a goal on the road, which is a concern to the team. We are busy working on that at training,” he added about the Tuks who are placed ninth on 17 points from 15 games.

“Our objective in the second-round is to make sure that we get more wins to add to the five (5) games we won in the first-round. We also need to turn a couple of games we lost into draws. Once we achieve that, we can reach our aim of finishing in the top 8.”

Nyondo has enjoyed more game time at Tuks, scoring four league goals at par with countrymen Robert Ng’ambi and Esau Kanyenda and four goals shy of leading scorer Benard Parker.
