She emphasized the importance of determination and effort in overcoming these obstacles and encouraged the girls to strive for excellence.

Austin: When young girls learn how to set and pursue their goals, they develop skills and confidence

“The empowerment of girls and women not only benefits individuals but also has a ripple effect that positively impacts communities as a whole. Motivating girls to achieve more in life can lead to transformative changes within households and communities.

“Furthermore, when young girls learn how to set and pursue their goals, they develop skills and confidence that enable them to reach their full potential. This not only benefits the individuals themselves but also contributes to the overall progress and prosperity of society,” she said.

On her part, TNM specialist performance management and analysis Stella Mkonjo said the event is an extension of the commemoration of International Women’s Day.

She said: “Encouraging young girls to recognize their potential is crucial. Just like a seed, each girl possesses immense potential waiting to be nurtured and cultivated. By providing them with the support, resources, and encouragement they need, we can help them realize their capabilities and aspirations.”

Margret Bandawe, one of the girls who attended the event, expressed how valuable the session was for her and her peers.

“The session provided us with practical insights on how to navigate the challenges we face while striving to achieve our goals,” she said.
