Mzuzu reggae star Fitzgerald Simfukwe has set out for a show in Lilongwe, marking the launch of his Kadundulu 4 album.

The Kadundulu hit-maker is taking a road trip to the capital to meet Black Missionaries at Lilongwe Golf Club on Sunday afternoon, having secured the support of the reggae outfit who thrilled his hometown two weeks ago.

He was expected to unveil the newest Kadundulu installment at the same venue last month just a day after Jamaican reggae superstar Luciano’s concert at Silver Stadium.

On Wednesday, he said all is set for the April 19 live performance, the first time he is launching a release away from the ever-green city of Mzuzu.

“The show is on. On Tuesday evening, I talked to Blacks leader Anjiru Fumulani and he assured me the People’s Band will be part of the show. The Blacks are a top band with vast experience when it comes to live performances. Their presence will make Kadundulu 4 launch a memorable encounter,” said Simfukwe.

Anjiru confirmed the Blacks’ involvement.

“The programme is on. As a band, we are grateful to support our brother as he launches his album, but the dates are subject to change because we have very few days to market the show. We want to make the performance a fulfilling experience for both the artist and the fans,” said the Blacks’ vocalist.

Despite the prevailing uncertainty, Simfukwe and his Mediators Band have spent the past two months building up their act in readiness for a bigger audience in Lilongwe, a centrally located city.

The album on offer comprises five songs—Wanga, Reggae Music, We Are One, Zion King and Kadundulu 4—along with dub tracks, specially cut for dance fanatics and lovers of instruments.
