Sir Paul Banda on Saturday night serenaded Mibawa Café in Blantyre with his refreshingly smooth performance.

The artist proved he is in his own league as he struck his guitar with finesse and precision on a live arrangement that sounded like a CD.

Backed by Mibawa Band, which performed their usual covers prior to the main act, Sir Paul, walked in Mibawa Café with his guitar already fine tuned that saved patrons the irritation of the sound checks.

He started playing the moment he jacked-in his guitar plug to the mixer.

Performing Mudzisankhile Njira, Chimwemwe, Nthawi Imafika Tidzamtamanda Ambuye, Mwanayo and Malilime, Sir Paul reminded patrons of the good old days when he was at the peak of his career.

Some of the songs that were performed due to demand were Achimwene Mudzigona Kunyumba and Zonse Nzabwino.

There was a powerful synergy from the audience and the Balaka-based veteran kept the Mibawa experience exceptional this night.

This feedback and the warmth of the audience compelled the artist to thank his fans yesterday through his Facebook page.

“Happy Sunday Blantyre! I just want to thank you for the warm welcome you gave me at Mibawa! The patronage was so wonderful. Your joy made me very comfortable. I felt so warm and loved. May God bless each one of you for your kindness. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” he posted. n
