Lilongwe-based musician Skeffa Chomoto and his Real Sounds Band Monday morning departed for Zimbabwe where they have been invited by musician Alexis Kawala for a number of performances.

“I got the invitation during my recent performance at the Lusaka Gala Festival in Zambia. The way I performed impressed the Zimbabwean artist and he did not believe that the performance is coming from a Malawian artist,” he said.

Skeffa added that during the Zimbabwe tour, he will focus on learning from the Zimbabwean musician.

On a different not, Skeffa said he will release his much anticipated Chinamuluma Chakuda DVD next month.

The musician, who recently undertook a round tour of Botswana, South Africa and Zambia, said the trip has accorded him an opportunity to collect fresh video clips that will be featured in the DVD.

Speaking during his Mzuzu show at Key Lounge on Saturday night, the artist said his fans should expect more fun in the DVD.

“Much as I say that the DVD will incorporate more acts than the previous ones, I will let it speak for itself. The thing is that I have several clips from around Malawi and abroad. We have covered every area where we have been touring,” said Skeffa.

The Chikondi album, released last year, has 11 tracks including Chinamuluma Chakuda, Dalitsani Okondedwa, Neneleni and Ndirandireni.
