The country’s model soccer academy Surestream is on a scouting mission in the Northern Region.

According to the academy’s administration manager Patricio Kulemeka, the scouting exercise started last week.

“We are searching for young talent in four age groups- under-10, 12, 15 and the senior team which is Under-20.

“We started in Karonga where about three promising players were spotted,” said Kulemeka.

“The trials are in two phases. We play friendly matches and organise basic ball-work exercise. It has been promising so far,” said Kulemeka.

Surestream seems to be on track in its vision to help develop football as it has contributed seven players to the Under-20 national team and five under-17 players.

Their Under-20 side won the Southern Region Football League (SRFL) Division One championship while their under-17 side won the Kachere League championship.
