Hip hop musician Third Eye has released two singles that feature President Joyce Banda.

The songs, My Madiba and Ndiloreni, include extracts from Joyce Banda’s speeches.

The singles have, however, stirred mixed reactions from his fans, who have either praised him or claimed he has lost track by singing political songs.

In his response, the Imagine Being Jesus and Not Knowing It rapper, hit back at some of his critics on Facebook.

The artist claimed that it is his business to make theme songs and said he has been approached by other parties too.

“…Even though PP isn’t the only party that approached me for theme songs, they are the only ones who declared their knowledge of the fact that I’m apolitical and they also declared their interest in having me work with their government on youth-related issues. I don’t work with political parties.

“I work with the government of the day…I’ll still be the first hip hop artist in Malawi if not in Africa, to collaborate a song with an incumbent president. Do you people actually think I expect you to congratulate me?” read the post.

In My Madiba, the artist magnifies Joyce Banda’s ability o forgive others and inserts a voice extract of Joyce Banda’s speech at Nelson Mandela’s funeral. Loreni highlights some of Banda’s two-year term.
