It’s official. Ugandan comedy queen Annie Kansiime will tour Malawi next month.

Kansiime is hilariously funny. Her comedy skits on her Youtube channel, which she does both Swahili and English, are a big hit across the continent.

The theatre queen is such a phenomenon that she has exported her comedy around the world as viral skits that have garnered thousands of views.

Kansiime, who is a writer, producer, stand-up comic and performer, has been described as a comedian who will leave you in stitches: holding your sides, wiping your eyes, and asking for more.

“And because her doses are as bite-size as her petite, stylish frame, you can probably fit more belly laughs in your work day than action points and still leave your day feeling like a success,” her profile reads.

On Kansiime’s page, her manager, Jonhson Mujungu, posted a message that the comedian will hit town soon.

“Muli bwanji/How are you Malawi. We are delighted to announce that Africa’s Queen of Comedy Kansiime Anne will be with you in Blantyre and Lilongwe at the ‘Celebration of African Humour’ events slated for May 17th and 18th, 2014,” the post reads.

The post adds that the tour is courtesy of versatile poet Qabaniso ‘Q’ Malewezi and Qoncept Creative.

In an interview, Malewezi confirmed the tour, saying: “There are other acts apart from her. We are still working on that and therefore, details will be made available later. But for now, it is true, Annie Kansiime will tour Malawi in May”.
