MSC Veterans have vowed to use home-ground advantage to demolish Cricket Academy (CA1)this Sunday and win Group B’s last quarter-final slot in the National Bank 25-Overs Cricket Tournament.

The team’s captain Shiraz Zaveri, whose side has remained with two games to wind up its group stage fixtures, said this would be their only chance to make it into the last-eight for the first time in three years.

Currently, the six-member Group B has already seen MSC Orange, MSC Silver and MSC Purple qualifying for the crucial stage, but the Veterans have a strong chance to earn the group’s last slot if they win at least one of their remaining games.

“We are a strong team and the home ground advantage will make us a formidable force this Sunday. We cannot afford to miss this rare opportunity of qualifying for the quarter-finals,” Zaveri said.

In another must-watch encounter, MSC Gold Fattani will take on MSC Grey at the Oriental Cricket Club (OCC) to see a side that will grab the last quarter-final slot from group-A. The two sides are currently tied on two points from three games.

However, three more games this weekend will be played for formality’s sake, considering that all the teams that will be involved in the games already made it into the last-eight stage.

MSC Orange will battle it out against the hosts OCC while MSC Silver will fight for pride against MSC Purple at the St Andrews International High School. MSC White will be up against MSC Blue at the MSC.
