Flames winger Peter Wadabwa is on trials at Free State Stars, hoping to put back on the rails his career that stalled last season at Golden Arrows in the South Africa Premiership.

When contacted several times recently, Wadabwa, who Arrows loaned out to a First Division side last season before expiry of the contract, was reluctant to comment about his next career move.

But Stars website captured Wadabwa among the squad that won a pre-season Ukuthela Mayoral Cup after beating Manzini Wanderers on a tour in Swaziland two weeks ago.

Wadabwa hopes to reunite with former Flames coach Kinnah Phiri who is Stars assistant coach. Stars are also eyeing Black Leopards’ Malawian defender Harry Nyirenda.

In Zimbabwe, George Nyirenda played a full game whereas Gerald Phiri Junior came off the bench as Caps United lost 2-1 to rivals Dynamos in a third derby this season alone across all competitions.
