Wago displayed classic pool moves that enabled it to thrush Club Decee 3-0 during the final game.

The win means that the side has qualified for two national tournaments, having scooped position one in the 2015 Malawi Pool Association (Mapa) regional finals.

With Sunday glory, the Wago squad that comprised players such as Kelson Chirwa, Chikondi Moyo, Muga Ng’ambi, Bonface Nyoni and Given Chenda has also secured a place in the Under-23 national finals to be held in Lilongwe at Civo Stadium from July 24-25.

Wago captain Madalitso Phiri said his side will continue to train hard to sustain their winning status during the national finals.

“I cannot say much on our present status; the truth is that we still have a long way to go and we will continue fighting on. Our mission is to scoop the national championships for 2015,” said Phiri.

Northern Region Pool League chairperson urged teams that participated in the tournament to continue working hard.

“I am satisfied with the way teams competed in the tournament,” said Munthali.
