Master of ceremonies are mulling over a constitution which will give them legal backing and guide their way out of messy trade practices.

The MCs’ committee chairperson James Nipuro last week said the group lacked direction in the absence of the legal document; hence, the consensus at the Easter meeting held at Mponda Primary Schools’ Teachers Development Centre (TDC) in the old capital.

“When we raise the commission we charge per event and the annual subscription fee, people tell us we have no basis for doing this. Apart from boosting our revenue, the constitution will also improve MCs welfare in times of sickness and funerals,” said Nipuro.
