This means Bullets players have received a total of K700 000 from well-wishers since their victory over Wanderers as they also got K500 000 from their executive committee chairperson Noel Lipipa.

“This is a fulfilment of a promise I made before the derby that I would reward the players if they beat the Nomads,” Mwamadi said.

Bullets captain Chiukepo Msowoya described the donation as a timely motivation ahead of their encounter against Azam Tigers at Kamuzu Stadium this Sunday.

“This has given us great motivation to do well against Tigers this weekend. We thank Mwamadi for fulfilling his promise. We know bigger rewards are waiting for us as we fight to defend the league title,” Msowoya said.

Nomads’ reject Kondwani Kumwenda scored the lone goal to help Bullets go four seasons without losing to their fiercest rivals.

In their last 10 games since 2012, Bullets have won six, drawn thrice and lost once.

They are currently second on the16-team log-table with 40 points from 22 games. Silver Strikers are at the summit with 41 points from 21 matches. n
