Two more Bullets players injured ahead of Moyale game

FCB Nyasa Bullets’ injury woes have worsened as two more players, namely defender Collin Mujuru and midfielder Chrispin Mapemba have been ruled out of this afternoon’s TNM Super League match against Moyale Barracks at Mzuzu Stadium.

The duo joins a growing list of injured players that includes Maxwell Gasten Phodo, Frank Willard, Alick Lungu, Clever Mkungula, Mike Mkwate, Chikumbutso Salima, Ephraim Kondowe and Stanley Billiat.

In a pre-match press conference, the People’s Team gaffer Kallisto Pasuwa said the injuries are affecting his team in terms of combinations.

“But we can’t do anything about it,we’ll have to use the players that are available,” he said.

The Zimbabwean tactician partly attributed the injuries to frequent change of fixtures.

“We are having problems with fixtures. I think the way the fixtures are being changed sometimes is disturbing. You are told you will play the match on Friday and from nowhere, it is changed before a match,” said Pasuwa in reference to the Moyale fixture, which was initially scheduled for yesterday.

He added: “That is another factor that is affecting us in terms of injuries because of the way we have been travelling. This scenario of changing fixtures anyhow is making our job difficult.”

But last week, Sulom defended the fixture change, saying the  venue had been booked for another event on Sunday.

“Any inconvenience caused by this change is sincerely regretted,” wrote Sulom in a statement.

Commenting on today’s game, Pasuwa said they will approach it positively and not underrate the Mzuzu-based Malawi Defence Force side.

His Moyale counterpart Pritchard Mwansa said they are ready for the game.

“We are looking forward to the game. To us it is just like any other fixture and playing at home gives us a lot of confidence,” he said.
