Huawei Technologies has said the introduction of 5.5G will see more people source information within a short period of time because it is fast.

The company’s rotating chairperson, Ken Hu, said this in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday during a 14th Mobile Broadband Forum which it hosted in cooperation with other ICT companies.

The forum was aimed at discussing the development direction of the mobile communications industry and infinite possibilities of mobile connectivity.

He said: “We are moving in the right direction and we are happy with what we have done so far. This is because 5.5G will give greater opportunity to our technology market.”
Ken noted that the reason many people will be attracted to 5.5 G is because of its speed.

On his part, Global Systems Mobile Communications Association director general Mats Granryd said it took 10 years for a billion people to be connected to 3G but has taken only three years for a billion people to connect to 5G.

He noted that the world is becoming digital as, such; there is need for technological changes in the global world.
“The world is changing as more and more people need information and fast.

“This [5.5G] is the only one that can do that. We are moving forward and we do not want anyone to be left behind,” he said.

Another forum, the 9th Global Ultra-Broadband Forum 2023 in Dubai, looked at building a valuable communication platform which would help to promote industry consensus, business cooperation among industry chain members and build a sustainable ultra-broadband industry ecosystem.
