The seesaw affair continued in the TNM Super League yesterday as Mighty Wanderers reclaimed the top spot from their rivals FCB Nyasa Bullets after routing Mighty Tigers 3-0 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
Second-half goals from strikers Muhammad Sulumba and Blessings Mwalilino as well as midfielder Isaac Kaliati, broke Tigers’ resistance in a match the Nomads largely dominated.
The Nomads now lead with 55 points from 23 matches while Bullets are second with 53 points from the same number of games.
But Bullets play Kamuzu Barracks this afternoon at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe and can topple the Nomads with a victory.
The Nomads were on the front foot from the first whistle, dictating possession and pinning Tigers deep in their own half.

Tigers, meanwhile, looked disjointed and each time they got the ball they lost it quickly, inviting a barrage of attack from the Nomads.
Wanderers earned four corners inside the first half-hour, but squandered them all, despite Kaliati’s dangerous deliveries.
Tigers’ rare break in the 25th minute almost yielded an unlikely opener when Greyson Msowoya released Martin Nsewa, whose cross lacked a finishing touch.
Moments later, Wanderers’ Masiya Manda picked out Sulumba with a precise cross, only for the striker to head wide.
Wanderers suffered a scare just before half-time when goalkeeper
Dalitso Khungwa fumbled a simple back-pass from defender Peter Cholopi, conceding a corner which was dealt with.
But after half-time, Wanderers emerged with renewed intent and soon their breakthrough arrived in the 52nd minute when Sulumba headed a floated corner kick from Rajab Nyirenda.
From there, the Nomads controlled the tempo, while Tigers attempted to build momentum, but lacked the cutting edge to threaten an equaliser.
Instead, the Nomads doubled the lead in the 75th minute through Mwalilino who headed in Blessings Singini cross.
Kaliati then completed the rout, connecting home a cross from Wallace Adam in the 79th minute.
In a post-match interview Wanderers coach Bob Mpinganjira said Tigers frustrated them in the first-half.
On his part, Tigers coach Trevor Kajawa, whose side is just above relegation zone of position 13, said they lost concentration in the second-half.
In other matches, third-placed Silver Striker’s Emmanuel Allan netted a hat trick in the Bankers’ 3-0 victory over Moyale Barracks at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe.
