Wine and Field set for launch
Chalo Villas and Farms in Chitedze, Lilongwe will host the inaugural Wine and Field, a new outdoor wine experience on May 2.
The event’s curators said it is built around wine, land and atmosphere which will bring people into a countryside setting.

Speaking in an interview yesterday, Chalo Villas and Farms marketing manager Mirriam Jiya said the event will introduce Wine and Field as a biannual experience designed to evolve over time.
She said: “The experience is designed to feel open and easy. The kind of day where people arrive, settle into the space and enjoy. Wine sits at the centre, with food and music supporting the moment rather than competing with it.”
Jiya said what makes the event to stand out is the setting and experience that the Chalo Villas and Farms will bring. She said the farm environment has an authentic feel that people will relate with.
“There is more awareness now. More interest in quality over volume. More value placed on experiences that feel considered, not crowded,” she said.
The event will be marked by a performance by Afro-jazz artist Maggie Kadrum and she told The Nation in an interview that she was doing anything possible to ensure that she delivers a good performance to make the experience memorable.
She said: “I am excited to bring my jazz sound in such a beautiful space which I believe will be a perfect blend. I want to give people a perfect feel and a moment of serene energy. I am looking forward to this beautiful moment which will bring people together and connect.”
Tickets for the launch are available on Kwenda.com and chalovillas.com.
