Football pundit Felix Ngamanya Sapao says being part of seasoned analysts for the 2026 World Cup on Azam TV in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, was a wonderful experience.
Azam TV’s ambitious drive to deliver a world experience led to the the giant media outlet’s engaging a team of seven analysts, three each from Kenya and Uganda and Sapao from Malawi.
In an interview on Thursday, he said: “My experience at Azam TV was exceptional. It was an opportunity I will always cherish and I hope this marks the beginning of a long and fruitful partnership with Azam Media—especially as East Africa prepares to host the 2027 Afcon [Africa Cup of Nations] next year.
“I am proud that, alongside a remarkably talented team, we delivered results that exceeded expectations, as reflected in the positive feedback from both Azam management and viewers across the region.
“Reaching a peak of nearly 55 million viewers during a single broadcast was satisfying and a true highlight of the tournament.”
Sapao thanked his co-analysts Kenyan Benard Otieno and Peter Otai from Uganda, saying: “Together we delivered and I hope fate brings our trio back to the Azam TV screens again soon.”
Azam TV head of sports Nuru Mbura hailed the team for a job well done.

Azam Media delivered comprehensive coverage of the World Cup—dubbed The Greatest Show on Earth—captivating an audience of over 25 million viewers per game across Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Malawi.
For the first time, Azam TV offered a dedicated English-language broadcast for the tournament alongside its traditional Swahili coverage, airing all 104 matches live.
