Asu, Linje tipped to debut for Nomads tomorrow

After a lengthy wait, Cameroonian striker Lionel Asu is set to debut for Be Forward Wanderers tomorrow against Surestream FC in a Super League match.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) transfer matching system (TMS) manager Casper Jangale and Nomads general secretary Mike Butao confirmed in separate interviews yesterday that the player’s international transfer clearance (ITC) will be in by today.

“The Thai FA [Football Association] has already processed the ITC and we should get it by tomorrow [today],” said Jangale.

On his part, Butao said: “From what we have gathered, there was just a communication breakdown, but we have an assurance that the ITC will be sent tomorrow [today].

Asu was embroiled in contractual disagreements with the Nomads, a development that delayed his debut, but even after sorting out the contractual issue, they could not register him as FAM claimed that they could not trace him in the system.

Butao also said attacking midfielder Jabulani Linje will be available for selection. n
