Aycee James muses over debut album

Budding female hip-hop artist Aycee James has released a new single, Not Alone, which is part of her debut album The Exception due to be released end this year.

Known for her conscious and deep lyrics, Aycee—real name Atupele Mahata—said Not Alone is a song of inspiration and motivation.

“Everyone is trying to get somewhere in their life; so, I decided to write something to motivate and inspire them to get where they want to be,” she said.

The China Love hit-maker said the song also talks to everyone heading somewhere to work hard and never give up.

“I am talking to those that made it not to forget where they are coming from, the people that helped them and also those that brought them down and with that,they should be able to help others trying to get where they are and not put them down,” she said.

Aycee is currently working on a debut album, The Exception which she said will be recorded at Pro-Pee’s Studio.

“I’ll be featuring artists not only from Malawi but also Nigeria and maybe other African countries. I’m also looking forward to working with other artists on their projects as well,” he said.
