While other teams are losing sponsorship, Bakhresa Grain and Milling have maintained thei K6 million (about $15 000) annual sponsorship of Azam Tigers.

Bakhresa human resources manager Richard Tchereko on Thursday said they have faith in the performance of the team.

“We have maintained our sponsorship at K6 million annually, with incentives of K50 000 (about $125) for a game the team wins and K25 000 (about $62.50) for a game that ends in a draw,” Tchereko said when asked for an update on the team’s sponsorship.

This season, the Kau Kau made history by not conceding in seven consecutive league games and, until last week, eight unbeaten.

Tchereko acknowledged that “the team’s performance so far is superb, notwithstanding the shock of the road accident the players were involved in recently.”

“It is encouraging to sponsors to note that the team has played several games without conceding, a very peculiar phenomenon in the TNM Super League. We are proud to be associated with Azam Tigers FC. It is our high expectation that the team will maintain its standard of play,” he said.

The team’s technical director Robin Alufandika attributed their bright start to team unity and determination to win silverware this season.
