Standard Bank clerk, Ramzy Kika, recently took time off note-counting to record two gospel albums—Yonah and Mwana Wolowelera.

Kika is scheduled to launch his albums this Sunday at St. Matthew’s Anglican Hall in Blantyre.

In an interview early this week, the banker-cum-singer traced his music career way back in 2006, but said he took time to produce an album to allow the talent to mature.

“I didn’t want to give people half-baked music. That’s why I took time to come up with an album,” said Kika.

He disclosed that he ventured into music as a means to proclaim the gospel of the Lord and inspire people to live in fear of their Creator.

He expressed optimism that the two albums, which were recorded and produced at Happy Sounds Studios by Lawrence Kandodo, will help him achieve his vision.

“It’s my prayer that my music would touch lives of many people and inspire them to turn to God,” Kika explained.

According to Kika, patrons to the show will not regret because there will be a variety of musicians performing.

Among artists earmarked to spice up the launch are long-time secular musician Jupiter Chimowa, Davie Chiwaya, Adams Family, Alex Mandala, Gateway to Heaven and Homeland Family.

The launch is scheduled for 1:30 pm at K700 ($1.75) per head.
