Bantu Arts Theatre has organised a tour with their two plays 1+1=92 and Confessions from Friday to Sunday.

Bantu Arts Theatre will debut two the productions at Kaphuka Private Secondary Schools in Blantyre on Friday afternoon before taking them to Machinga Teachers’ Training College in the evening.

St Monica Secondary School will get a taste of 1+1=92 and Confessions on Saturday afternoon while St Michael’s will feast their eyes on the productions in the evening.

Bantu Arts will conclude the tour at St Paul’s seminary and Mangochi Secondary School.

In an interview, the group’s artistic director Frank Mbewe said they are expecting to dazzle their fans as they took their time to come up with the two productions.

“We have worked on these two productions for almost a year and we are very sure that the product that we are about to offer to our fans is very mature and of high artistic quality,” said Mbewe.

Mbewe added that they have incorporated ballroom dances to their performance and that they have made very sure of suspense throughout all productions.

The group has also included current issues such as the Capital Hill plunder and several other issues.

Confessions revolves around issues of corruption, faith and piety while 1+1=92 is based on the logic of karma and the conflict of education against duty to one’s roots.
