Malawi’s veteran hip hop ace Barry One says he will launch his just released third album Footprints in style this month end.

In an interview with The Nation on Tuesday, the gruff-voiced star, real name Barry Mkorongo, revealed that he will not just be launching the album but also celebrating the coming of age of urban music in Malawi.

“Well it feels great and fabulous especially on the part of your music still being acknowledged despite the coming in of all these new comers, some even looking up to you, it is really an honour to have such an acknowledgement.

“The response to this album Footprints has been great with the fact that most really anticipated it. It feels great at the same time makes you scared if it will be satisfactory in comparison to the anticipation,” he said.

In the launch jamboree, Barry One, who is renowned for his strong love lyrics expressed in deep voice, said he will include award-winning Anankabango star Young Kay, Piksy and other upcoming artists namely Trumel and Gwamba.

Barryone, who expressed deeper concerns of piracy, adds that the album will be sold all over Malawi and it will also be online.

The third album, which is a full package of 16 tracks, features a range of other urban artists. They include: Young Kay, Maskal, Armstrong, Bucci and Kallista.
