Some top Nyasa Big Bullets main supporters committee officials are planning to extend their tenure by a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The current committee’s three-year tenure expires at the end of the year, but its chairperson Stone Mwamadi and secretary Mabvuto Chibambo said since there has been hardly any activity, they have proposed to the zonal supporters committees that they should add a year to their tenure.

Mwamadi, who declared that he will not seek re-election after the current term, said: “Under the current circumstances, we will serve one more year since the 2020 season is as good as lost.

“So, the elections will be shifted to the end of next season.

“However, we will seek the guidance of the club and the zonal committees.”

On his part, Chibambo said: “We have unfinished business emanating from the lost season. So, our position is that we will extend the tenure by a year.

“It will only be fair that we bow out after completing the tasks that we promised the supporters.”

Bullets chief administration officer Albert Chigoga said they will wait for official communication from the supporters committee.

He said: “This is a governance issue and, as such, we will only act after being communicated to. At present, they are yet to do that.”
