natasha“Having done the single This is Africa, the response is overwhelming; I am getting calls from people from various corners of the world, including South Africa, India, Ireland, America and England. This is special, it has compelled me to come up with an album that will be released in April,” said the 2013 Big Brother Africa housemate.

DStv-TIA is a forum aimed at reclaiming African identity, its heritage and continent’s political, economic and cultural position in the globalised world.

The forum uses various modes of communication to realise its aim of existence that include the use of music.

According to Natasha, 20 artists submitted their tracks during the 2014 series, but it was her song This is Africa that was selected on this ambassador chart.

She said This is Africa has information that is in line with the forum existence.

“The song aims to promote Africa in a positive space, as public figures, we have the responsibility to educate and shape the real image of Africa. Using this song, I wanted to be part of the campaign,” she said.

Natasha said her aim is not to generate money out of the album but to use her songs as a medium to express her concepts.

“Despite my plans to release this album, I still take music as therapy, I believe that music is a strong instrument that can send life-changing messages to the world and I use it to promote just that,” she said.

Natasha started singing in 2007, but she recorded her first track titled Ana Amasiyein 2007. Since then she remained quiet to date, when she is recording her first album.
