Summer is here and what a good time to soak oneself in the refreshing and calming waters of Lake Malawi.

It is the season when fun lovers throng the beaches of the Lake Malawi but for Blantyre people, storming the beaches will not be necessary as the new Bikini Pool Party dubbed Summer Breeze has come to town.

In an introductory style, the first event will be held this Saturday at the Dorvic Hotel in Chirimba Township. The event is being run by IQ Entertainment and is facilitated by Pencils PR, a Blantyre-based public relations consultation firm.

According to the firm’s talent and public relations consultant Kimpo Loka, the activity is here to stay and the debut will include swimming in bikinis and music performances.

“We are here to stay and the plan is that we will be having bikini pool parties and music performances concurrently once every weekend. Our current venue is Dorvic Hotel because of its beautiful scenery, good stage for performances and well-secured swimming pools,” said Loka.

He added that during each event, there will be a renowned urban music artist to grace the event and being the debut, the Saturday event will bring on stage seven urban arists, Blakjak, Zeze, Yesaya, Bucci, Stich, D’rhano, Pon-G and Weapon.

“We are targeting fun-lovers. The objective is to provide space where people can socialise, network and on the other hand, appreciate music and dancing skills from both budding and established artists,” he said, adding that the shows will be starting with swimming.

Loka also revealed that the list of artists will be dominated by names of musicians whose music is playing on radios and television stations, but have no opportunity to perform live on stage.

During the events, braai and all types of drinks will be sold.
