Black Missionaries Band lead vocalist Anjiru Fumulani on Sunday took advantage of the band’s live performance at Wakawaka Hotel in Lilongwe to repeatedly bid farewell to Lilongwe fans before they head off to the United Kingdom on June 24.

In an interview after the show, which also roped in Lulu and his Mathumela Band, Fumulani said the band is set to leave for the UJK where they hold shows in London, Birmingham, Ireland, Manchester and Scotland.

The Blacks front man also disclosed that after the UK performances, the band is scheduled to return home on July 28 and stay for only two weeks before leaving for United State of America (USA).

“In USA, we can confirm to you that we will perform in Washington DC, Indiana and Chicago,” he added.

Fumulani said the tour will comprise 10 members including the band manager Ras Ray Harawa.

He said the band will only hold two final shows in Malawi, one in Mwanza on Friday and the other at the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (Luanar) on Saturday before heading for the UK.

The Wakawawa show proved to be a success as well as the venue accommodated more patrons despite a chilling whether which saw most of the patrons clad in warmth-providing garments.

However, there were some sporadic incidences of violence among fans, but that did not stop the unfolding of the show, not even for a second.

After Lulu, Yanjanani Chumbu, Moda Fumulani and Antony Makondetsa partook their roles on stage, Anjiru Fumulani took the show to a greater height from 9:11 pm and sung Salimo, Rastaman’s Wife, Wansanje, Mulomo, Timba, among others.

At one time, he performed the late Michael Jackson’s Hold My Hands, which saw most patrons bursting into a sing-along mood before bidding farewell and exiting the stage at 10:56pm.
